“Alleviating Poverty through Provision Equipment for Creating Jobs and Charitable Activities”

Thriive Program helps business owners expand their businesses
In addition to supporting entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, the THRIIVE Program aims to empower business owners to give back to their communities—especially those in the outskirts of Phnom Penh—by:
- Creating jobs
- Providing charitable support
- Offering skills training
Together, these efforts help reduce poverty and improve community well-being.
Receive equipment charitable loan from $ 2,000 to $ 10,000

100% as a charitable activity and creating jobs
Thriive Program Repayment
Repayment is not in cash.
The repayment period is 2 years, with contributions made quarterly or semi-annually.
Repayment is fulfilled through community impact activities, including creating employment opportunities and generating income for people in need.
Examples of repayment activities include:
- Donation of Products/services.
- Donating products or materials that beneficiaries can sell to generate income. (Added-income)
- Providing skills training to help people gain employment. (Job Training)
- Providing skills training together with the necessary tools or materials to enable beneficiaries to start earning an income through small businesses or self-employment. (Added-income Instruction)
Criteria to Participate in Thriive Program
- Needs production equipment to expand the business.
- Is willing to pay it forward through charitable activities and job creation.
- Has been operating the business for at least one year.
- Is the business owner with decision-making authority and can dedicate 100% of their working time to the business.
- Has at least 2 but no more than 30 employees.
- Agrees to participate in consulting sessions and training activities organized by the GADC team.
- Has office or business shop/store in Phnom Penh

But Vanny, 54, lives in Toul Leap village, Snor commune, Khan Kambol, Phnom Penh
A widow with three grown children living independently, she had been unemployed for over a year before joining the program. Through job training and receipt of added-income products, she became a seasonal staff member, earning income for daily expenses while gaining new skills. The support package of cashew nuts and boat cake also provided additional capital, enabling her to sell products at cafés and markets for extra income. She expressed her gratitude to Golden Hand Cashew for providing a sales channel and wholesale pricing that allowed her to earn higher income, as well as to the Thriive Program. "I am very happy to gain new skills and earn income to support myself. I could not find a job before due to limited skills, but now I can."
Success Stories
Vuthy, a 38-year-old woman with a disability
She completed a 35-day job training in sewing skills with Ming Handicraft. During the training, she learned essential garment-making skills, including body measuring, fabric cutting, sewing machine operation, and product quality control. The training strengthened her technical capacity and increased her confidence in her professional abilities. After completing the training, Ms. Vuthy was recruited as a full-time staff member at Ming Handicraft. She now applies her tailoring and sewing skills to produce garments and fulfill customer orders, earning a stable monthly income that allows her to be more self-reliant and financially independent.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Vuthy shared, “Before this training, I did not believe I could work like others because of my disability. Learning how to sew and use machines gave me confidence and a real job. Now I earn my own income, support myself, and feel proud to contribute to my family and society.”
Success Stories
Vanneth, a 25-year-old from a low-income family in the land eviction area of Tropaing Angchhan
He faced significant challenges in finding employment due to a lack of education and work experience. He joined a job training on how to work in food processing, make roasted duck, pork babecu, pak lov with Roast Choice, where he gained practical skills and exposure to workplace practices. Following the training, Mr. Vanneth got a full-time position in the stock department, earning a stable income that allows him to support his family. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “I had to stop studying a long time ago because my parents could not afford it, and I had no experience, making it difficult to find a job. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to join training with Roast Choice under the Thriive Program. Now I have a stable job and can support my parents.”
